Title
What is a Title?
A house title represents all of the legal rights surrounding the ownership and use of a residential property. A house title isn’t a document; it’s a concept used to establish a property owner’s “bundle of rights.”
What is the Title Contract?
Gypsy has developed an NFT title which represents the rights to the physical title that Gypsy holds. This smart contract is following the ERC721 token standard. This makes the title to work with existing DEFI applications.
Who holds the title to the house?
Gypsy creates a special purpose vehicle (SPV), a subsidiary company that is formed to undertake a specific business purpose or activity, that holds the titles to the real-estate that is in the treasury. Gypsy is the parent company to these subsidiaries. When an owner of the title wants to claim the legal ownership of the real-estate, they contact us and we start the process of transferring the rights to the real-estate.
Can I get access to the title of the house?
Gypsy does not have short term plans for selling off the homes in our network. We want to maintain as much real estate as possible short term in order to build up our treasury holdings. Long term, we will be sell these deeds from the treasury. When an individual buys this contract, they are buying the subsidiary company which is holding the house title. At which point the individual owns the home.
What does the Title Contract do?
Track the home on chain (rent, home value, #bedrooms, etc.)
Represent ownership of the asset
